It’s Back to Ghoul Night

Knott’s Halloween Haunt isn’t the only fright night worth visiting. Here are some of a number of Halloween attractions you can also enjoy here in Southern California.

The theme park invites guests to experience a “reel” horror production helmed by a mysterious horror genre auteur “The Director.”

The backlot experience plays a central role in “The Director’s” production, a scenario that calls for guests to be transported into eerie, darkened sets while subjected to disorienting and unnerving interactive experiences.

Uniquely themed Horror Zones—pockets of terror—will appear throughout the theme park, each with its own array of Zombies. The park also features multiple performances by trance music/performance artists The Mutaytor. This event is for adults only.

West Hollywood Halloween Costume Carnival

The carnival, the largest Halloween street party in the United States, spans over one mile of historic Route 66 in the heart of West Hollywood. Many will be wearing some of the most outrageous, unique Halloween costumes anywhere.

Four stages will feature non-stop talent, dancing and costume contests. The highlight of the evening will be the crowning of the new celebrity Honorary Mayor. The entire week will be filled with special events, costume contests.

Shipwreck includes unlimited entry to seven terrifying mazes, an enormous dance party in the all-new dome of Doom and a huge three level dance party in the X-Hall. The mazes include: Blood of the Buccaneers, Field of Freaks, House of Hallucinations in 3D Terrovision, Haunted Hull of Horror, Factory of Fears, Corridors of Carnage and Decks of the Doomed.

The event is not recommended for children under 12. Costumes and cameras are not permitted.

“The Haunt” is a Halloween fund-raising event to benefit three non-profit organizations: Special Olympics Southern California, Kiwanis and Project GRAD Los Angeles.

Attraction features three screaming walk through and wheelchair accessible mazes with over 20,000 square feet of scream good fun and entertainment: Nightmare Factory, Extreme Madness and ZombieVille—places where unsuspecting victims wind through terrors and nightmares.

Spooky Socials Around Town

Oct. 26—Cold Tofu’s Halloween Show will be held Thursday, from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., at Japanese American National Museum. Improvisational comedy troupe returns with more ghoulishly delicious sketches that leave you screaming with delight. Oct. 28—Come and join the fun at the Norwalk Dance Club’s Halloween Social from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Southeast Japanese School & Community Center, 14615 S. Gridley Road in Norwalk. The cost is $10 for members and $12 for non-members. Music for dancing will be provided by Frances Jew. We will also have a Halloween costume contest, so wear your Halloween costumes or bring it with you and you may just win a prize.
