I have lived in the area for 48 years, rode my horses on the paths what is now the 210 freeway going through there. My God Parents also played golf there, went to and graduated from Verdugo Hills High School in 1941 My Mother graduated from VHHS in 1945 and myself in 1980. Why can't "outsiders" leave the Sunland-Tujunga area alone, why is it that "they" feel development is needed in this area? Like those dumb bastards from this Hawk something or other development, ( which is from Las Vegas) that wants to put over 180 homes in the McGroarty Mountains near the Old Beautiful Cross, which has Easter Sunrise Services every year,. You don't see persons from S-T going into other States or small communities trying to "develope" remot areas. Stay the fuck out! and leave us along! If the idoits that purchased Verdugo Hills Golf Course want to sell, it should be for no more than what it was purchased plus what ever costs they incured, and that in itself is being generous! Remember at that time, real estate was at an all time high, where in the hell do they got off wanting to sell for over 20 million? I am in the Commercial Mortgage Banking Business, and have been for over 10 years, there is no way that property would hold a 20 million price tag, just look at the costal develompent that had to file BK last year, I believe it was south of Redondo Beach, at some old Marine amusement park. I am surprised at our City Counsel, but again, they are in it for the MONEY and Taxes generated. This poor Los Angeles county has so much that is wrong. Can you imagine the traffic congestion, it is bad enough now!, What kind of impact would all of those homes have on our water supply, sewer, electrical, noise, air polution. To try and imagine all of the negatives is unfathionable, those bastards that bought the property are only looking to further line their pockes, and to hell with those that live in the area!. Now the piece of shit that sold the property looking to make a buck, and with same retrospect to those in the area, he/they should be strung up on one of the old trees and skined alive..................that person(s) knew fully what the purchaser had in mind at the time, but did not give a second thought to the ramifications that would surely come............How pitiful it all is...........
