Dad, Col. John Dalton Byrne (USA Ret.) now 94, was so distraught over his loss that I this is the first time I have heard my uncle's story in so much detail. I will make a copy of this and send it to Dad. I'm sure he will be touched as well. It would seem, however, that Mr. Kazumura took Capt. Byrne's middle name in his honor, not his first name.
