The Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LA-LCV) has endorsed Assemblymember Warren Furutani for Los Angeles City Council, District 15, on Oct. 13.
The LA-LCV is the second major environmental group to endorse Furutani in recent days. Previously, he received the support of the Sierra Club.
As a member of the State Assembly, Furutani has worked to reduce toxic air pollution from the Los Angeles Port, particularly diesel particulate emissions, which are responsible for high rates of cancer and respiratory diseases in the community.
Furutani is also working with the community to ensure the safety of the massive butane holding tanks on North Gaffey in San Pedro.
