Jack Tagawa, Los Angeles-based engineer has died. He was 93. He served as Staff Sargent 2nd Battalion Headquarters of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team. He was born May 16, 1917 in Castroville, Calif., to Niichiro Tagawa and Eki Motosaki of Fukuoka-ken. He was married to Haru Nancy Nomura of Los Angeles who predeceased him by 22 years.
A memorial service will be held at the West Los Angeles United Methodist Church, 1913 Purdue Avenue, Los Angeles on Saturday, May 14 at 11 a.m. Reverend Gary Oba presiding.
Beloved father of Michiko and Rick Tagawa; brother of Violet Tagawa; uncle of Larry (Lynn) Tagawa, Alan Tagawa and Jane (Norio) Fukunaga. Also survived by many other relatives.
Jack will be interred at the Arlington National Cemetery Washington D.C. at a time to coincide with the 442nd/100th and MIS Congressional Gold Medal award ceremony.
