James Mei Nakamura passed away at his home in Stockton, California on May 19, 2012. He was 94 years old. Born in San Francisco, he is the only child of the late Magosuke and Hide Nakamura of Stockton. “Jimmy,” as many knew him by, attended the University of California at Berkeley, and graduated from the UCSF School of Dentistry in 1945. He practiced in the U.S. Armed Services (Korea, Japan) and privately for over 40 years in his hometown of Stockton. He and his wife, Rose, celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary on February 14th of this year.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Rose; his sons, Robert (Pat) Nakamura DDS, Fred Nakamura, MD and daughter Judith (Len) Metcalf; and his grandchildren; Darin (Iris) Nakamura, DDS, Clark Nakamura, Krista Metcalf and Gregory Metcalf.
A private Memorial Service was held on June 2, 2012 in Stockton, CA. Rose and her family thank everyone for their kind expressions of condolence. In lieu of donations, the family requests that a gift be made to a charitable organization of the donor’s choice.
