Isamu Sam Nakamura, a 42-year resident of Gardena, passed away on Monday, July 23, 2012. Born on May 10, 1922, in Brawley, CA, Isamu was 90 when he died. Isamu is survived by his wife, Teruko Nakamura; sons, David (wife-Jeanne) Nakamura of Huntington Beach, CA, and John (wife-Norma) Nakamura of Covina, CA: daughter, Julie Nakamura-Fowler of Redondo Beach, CA; sisters, Yukiko Sugiyama of National City, CA, and Wakako Yamauchi of Gardena, CA; and granddaughters-Rachel Fowler and Naomi Nakamura. A memorial service will be held at Rice Mortuary on Friday, August 3, 2012, at 3:30 pm with a reception immediately following the service.
