A ceremony will be held on Thursday, Oct. 4, to dedicate the Little Tokyo Medallions.

The 40 medallions, designed by artist Sonia Romero, serve as district identifiers for the historically and culturally rich Little Tokyo community. The medallions are installed on S. Central Avenue, First, Second, Third, San Pedro Street, and Los Angeles streets.
The dedication ceremony will take place from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Japanese Village Plaza – Plaza Open Stage Area. Guests scheduled to attend include Romero, District 14 Councilmember Jose Huizar, project consultant Erik Qvale, Jenny Scanlin and Martha Estrada of the Community Redevelopment Agency, and Susan Gray of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (formerly of the CRA).
Funding for the project was provided by CRA/LA and the Little Tokyo Business Improvement District. For more information, call Little Tokyo BID at (213) 620-0764 or email tsc.main.wliu@att.net.
