A private memorial service for Florence Nakazawa, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, 88-year-old, Santa Monica, Calif.-born Nisei, who passed away on Dec. 5, 2012, was held on Friday, Dec. 28, 2012 at Woodlawn Cemetery Santa Monica.

Pre-deceased by her husband, Karl; she is survived by children, Roger (Andrea) Nakazawa and Nancy (Mark) Yamazaki; grandchildren; Andy and Dante Nakazawa, Kiyoshi, Kenji and Mariko Yamazaki; siblings, Mabel (James) Kitsuse, Helen (Mike) Hori, Ruth (Sada) Tachi, Reggie (Fumi) Shikami, Joe (Kikue) Shikami and Jimmy (Lois) Shikami; brothers-in-law, Albert (Alice) Nakazawa and the late Warren (Yone) Nakazawa; also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Florence found great joy in her family, friends and her painting. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Keiro Nursing Home and West Los Angeles United Methodist Church.
