WOODLAND HILLS — A 75-year-old man with dementia and diabetes reported missing from the Kaiser Permanente Woodland Hills Medical Center was found by police on Sunday.
Officers found Takaaki Yasui was “just walking around,” not far from where he was last seen about 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at 5601 De Soto Ave. when officers on patrol spotted him, said Sgt. Eric Eppolio of the Los Angeles Police Department Topanga Station.
Yasui was spotted about midnight, but police did not say where.
He had wandered away from the medical center, without money or identification, while his wife and caregiver were meeting with a doctor. LAPD was notified at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
