Professor Emeritus Don T. Nakanishi, former director of the UCLA Asian American Studies Center, will be the guest speaker at the San Fernando Valley JACL luncheon.
The installation luncheon will be held on Sunday, Jan. 20, at the Odyssey Restaurant, 15600 Odyssey Drive, Granada Hills.
A professor of political science, Nakanishi has written approximately 80 books, articles and reports on the political participation of Asian Pacific Americans and other ethnic and racial groups in American politics. He is also a co-founder and former publisher of Amerasia Journal, the top scholarly journal in the field of Asian American studies.
