SANTA MARIA — Guadalupe Buddhist Church will hold its Obon Festival on Sunday, July 27, from12 to 4:30 p.m. at the Veterans’ Memorial Cultural Center, corner of Pine and Tunnel in Santa Maria.

Obon dancing will take place from 3 to 4 p.m.

Raffle will start at 4:30 p.m. First prize: $1,500; second prize: $500; third prize: $300; fourth prize: $100. Tickets are $5 each.

On the menu are kushiyaki, won ton, sushi, noodles, Hapa hot dogs, strawberry shortcake, ice cream and cold drinks. Chicken teriyaki dinners are $8 each.

Also featured will be taiko drummers, martial arts, a bonsai display, face-painting, and handicraft sales.
