The Orange Coast Optimist Club’s annual basketball skills training camp returns this August at Cypress College in the city of Cypress.

The Orange Coast Optimists are a community service organization dedicated to the scholastic, physical, moral, and civic development of the youths in every community. The OCO Basketball Camp strives to develop these aspirations in every camper that attends. It is a week of active fun and enthusiasm for one another as everybody improves.

The experienced staff focuses on training advanced techniques, plyometrics, and basketball fundamentals along with teamwork, camaraderie, optimism, and having fun. Campers will get the opportunity to train with coaches at specialized stations, and then they will practice applying those skills in organized games with their team.

There is still space available and the camp runs Monday, Aug. 4, through Friday, Aug. 8. The cost is $125 for OCO members and $150 for non-members. Morning daycare is offered as early as 7 a.m. and afternoon daycare until 5 p.m., except on Friday, at no additional cost. Lunch is not provided, but you can purchase a pizza lunch at camp.
