A funeral service for the late Saburo Tabata, 86-year-old, San Pedro, Calif.-born resident of Hacienda Heights (formerly of Esumi, Wakayama, Japan, Guadalupe, Calif. and Whittier, Calif.), were held on Friday, Feb. 20, at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier. He passed away peacefully at home on Feb. 11, after a brief bout with Stage 4 lung cancer. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Tokiko Tabata; sons, Vincent (Ana), Flint and Miles; grandchildren, Calvin, Amber and Brooke Tabata; he is also survived by many other relatives in the U.S. and Japan.
