Jane Chu, chairwoman of the National Endowment for the Arts, delves into the Sustainable Little Tokyo plan with Danielle Brazell, general manager of the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, and Maria Rosario Jackson, member of the National Council on the Arts. Chu visited Little Tokyo while on a trip to Southern California. Dean Matsubayashi (Little Tokyo Service Center), Kristin Fukushima (Little Tokyo Community Council), and Leslie Ito (Japanese American Cultural and Community Center) gave her a tour specifically highlighting the work of Sustainable Little Tokyo, a community-driven initiative towards neighborhood self-empowerment and economic, environmental, and cultural/historic sustainability.
