Gloria Young places a floral tribute for her uncle, Hisao Okimoto, killed in action during the Korean War, at the Memorial Day service held at the Japanese American National War Memorial Court in Little Tokyo on Saturday. PFC Okimoto, a light weapons infantryman with the U.S. Army, was killed on Oct. 6, 1951 in North Korea. The annual service pays tribute to all Japanese Americans who gave their lives in our nation’s wars.
