May 11, 1925 – July 19, 2015
Tony Matsuda of San Francisco passed away peacefully at home on July 19 2015 with many of his family members by his side. He was a social worker for the city for over 30 years as well as a part-time professor at USF. Prior to moving to SF, he was a priest (Ryocho Matsuda) at Koyasan Buddhist Temple in Little Tokyo. He had a great passion for reading any and all subjects, but most especially history, religion and philosophy. He is survived by wife Noriko; children Diane and Ken; and best friend Rox, his faithful dachshund. A private celebration of his life will be held at the USF Fromm Institute (Xavier Room) on Aug. 9, 2015 at 1 p.m.
