GARDENA — Japan Alliance and Gardena Valley Japanese Cultural Institute will hold their Holiday Party and Toy Drive on Thursday, Dec. 10, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the Nisei Veterans Memorial Hall at the GVJCI, 1964 W. 162nd St. in Gardena.
Registration is $20 per person, but if you bring an unwrapped toy worth $10 or more (bring receipt), you only pay $10. Entry fee includes appetizers, poke bowls, and a chance to win a fun prize in the white elephant game — no additional purchase is necessary to play.
All toys will be donated to the Torrance Fire Department and its Toys for Tots program. Two firefighters will come to accept the donation.
Additionally, there will be drinks for sale, and half of the proceeds will go to the Boys and Girls Club of America, the other half towards programs and events for the community. So drink, be merry, and give back, all in one fun and giving night.
