Dr. Mitsuya Yamaguchi passed away peacefully on Jan. 27, 2016 at his home in Scottsdale, Ariz. He was 99 years old. Mitsuya Yamaguchi was born the youngest of seven children in 1916 in New York City, and his family moved to Los Angeles during the Depression. He graduated from UCLA, and then the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He did his surgical residency at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. After the war, he relocated to Los Angeles and Little Tokyo, where he practiced medicine for 60 continuous years. He lost his wife, Barbara, in 1985, and his son Robert in 2013. He is survived by his children, Michael, Kenneth and Nina. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather, and a great physician. He continues to love and heal in our hearts.
