Victor Hiroshi Abe, 95, of Rolling Hills Estates died peacefully at home on Thursday, April 7, 2016. Born in L.A., he graduated from UC Berkeley and worked as a structural engineer. His 42-year engineering legacy includes the Nakaoka Center, Republic Bank, military exchanges, churches, restaurants, schools, theaters, and the Go For Broke Monument in Little Tokyo. He served in the Military Intelligence Service and received the Congressional Gold Medal presented to WWII Nisei veterans.
Vic is survived by wife, Esther; daughters, Vicki and Verna; brother, Lewis (Deana) Abe; sister-in-law, Agnes Fukumoto; and nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be on Friday, April 29, at 12 noon at Green Hills Memorial Park Pavilion, 27501 S. Western Ave., Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275. Family requests aloha/casual attire.
