Edward R. Nakanishi

Ed Nakanishi passed away peacefully on Nov. 12, 2020 at the age of 81. Ed was born on Sept. 6, 1939 to Takato and Kiyono Nakanishi in Honolulu, Hawaii. Ed graduated from McKinley High School in Honolulu in 1957. He remained close with many of his classmates. He joined the U.S. Army in 1961 and served for 3 years. He married Linda Narasaki in 1963 and had their daughter, Tracy in 1964 and son, Dean in 1968. They raised their children in Fullerton, Calif. Ed was the grandfather to Steven Akiyama and Jessica Akiyama. Ed had an illustrious career at Sears as a Sales Manager for 30 years. He received many sales and customer service awards. After Linda passed away, Ed remarried Judy Miyamoto in 1999. He had a wonderful marriage with Linda for 34 years and 22 magical years with Judy in his retirement years. Throughout his life, he also crafted his ability to play the saxophone from a child and into the last years of his life. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family will hold a private burial service and a virtual video event at a future date.
