Kathleen Mariko (Honda) Utsumi, born in Moneta/Gardena, formerly of San Leandro, peacefully passed away on January 27, 2021 in Redondo Beach at the age of 87.
Predeceased by her husband, Donald Noboru Utsumi, and siblings, Shinya Honda and Michiko (Gus, predeceased) Tanaka, she is survived by her daughters, Beverly (Stanley) Sugimoto, Lori (Warren) Louie, and Donna (Glenn) Gebhardt; grandchildren, Scott (Christine) and Spencer Sugimoto, Matthew (Stephanie) and Shannon Louie, Brent (Chelsea) Mori and Heather (Matthew) Crom; great-grandchildren, Celes Sugimoto and Seina Sugimoto; sister, Yasuko (Robert, predeceased) Utsumi. Kathleen leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews and dear friends, especially at Hollenbeck Palms.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 17, 10:30 a.m. at Fukui Mortuary, 707 E. Temple St. in Los Angeles.
