Dec. 26, 1936 – Dec. 18, 2010.

Born and raised in Nagoya, Japan, Mieko Hibino married and came to the U.S. at 25. She was living in Pasadena, Calif., one week shy of her 74th birthday, when she departed to be with her Lord Jesus Christ.

A beloved and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, Mieko is survived by her husband of 49 years, Rev. Masaya; children Barbara, June (Russell) Ogawa, Mich, and Emi (Sterling) Miller; grandchildren Sean and Geneva; and a brother and four sisters in Japan.

Mieko was a registered nurse, a lactation specialist, and a woman of many talents and interests. She was contemplative, creative, comedic, curious, and compassionate.

A memorial service will be held for her at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Wintersburg Presbyterian Church, 2000 N. Fairview St., Santa Ana, CA 92706. (714) 740-9400 http://www.wintersburg.org/
