Momoko Saruwatari (88) of South San Francisco, San Gabriel, Delta, Colo., and Gallup, N.M., passed away after a brief illness on Aug. 3, 2011, in Oxnard, Calif. Momo is preceded in death by Ben, her husband of 58 years; daughter Judi Kaminishi; son-in-law Guy Ono; and sister Chieko Herrera. She is survived by children, Jack (Colleen), Linda, and Corky (Tracey); grandchildren, Kevin, Kurtis, Kristee, Colette, Grant, Taylor and Tori; siblings, Michiko (Hiro) Yoshida, Hershey (Terry) Miyamura, Suzi Tashiro, Kei (Kimi) Miyamura and Shige Sasaki; and 117 nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011, at the Mission Valley Free Methodist Church, 1201 S. San Gabriel Blvd., San Gabriel, CA 91776. Limited seating.
