USC Pacific Asia Museum is hosting an “Authors on Asia” lecture by author Ruth Ozeki
Sunday, January 26, 2 p.m.
Ruth Ozeki will discuss A Tale for the Time Being, New York Times #1 Bestseller and shortlisted for the 2013 Booker Prize.

In Tokyo, sixteen-year-old Nao has decided there’s only one escape from her unhappy life. But before she ends it all, Nao plans to document the life of her great-grandmother, a Buddhist nun. Across the Pacific is Ruth, a novelist who discovers a collection of artifacts washed ashore in a lunchbox—possibly debris from the 2011 tsunami. As the mystery of its contents unfolds, Ruth is pulled into the past, into Nao’s drama and pushed forward into her own future.

Books available for purchase and signing. Light refreshments.

RSVP to USC Pacific Asia Museum Store (626) 449.2742 ext. 20.
