Yoshiko June (Hanabata) Fujimoto
January 27, 1921 – July 1, 2021

Yoshiko June (Hanabata) Fujimoto was born on January 27, 1921 in Santa Monica, Calif. She passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 1, 2021 at the age of 100 1/2 years old. Yoshiko was preceded in death by husband, Hideo Fujimoto in 1987; son, Sgt. Donald Fujimoto in 1968; and sisters, Hisako, Sumiko and Yoneko. She is survived by daughter, Margaret (Norio); son, David (Ellen); grandchildren, Kevin (Pei), Emenke, Kirk; and great-grandchildren Jothi, Keean, and Kiana.

Yoshiko lived in Japan from ages 7 through 18, then returned to the U.S., lived in the San Fernando Valley, relocated to the Manzanar War Relocation Center, married and had her daughter, then moved to Stockton, Calif., where 2 sons were born. Yoshiko enjoyed traveling to Asia and Europe, cruising, needlework and cooking. She was active in the Stockton and Sacramento Bonsai Clubs, while growing hundreds of bonsai in her own Japanese garden. Yoshiko had many friends and family in the Los Angeles area. Private family service will be held at a later time. Interment is at Parkview Cemetery in French Camp, Calif.
