Karen Yoshimizu Nobuta of Haru Florist holds a giant Oshogatsu wreath she created for Honda’s Rose Parade float. The wreaths are usually made of rice stalks, but Nobuta substituted raffia grass for their length. “I always wanted to make one, ever thought I could make a really big one,” she said. “It came out really nice.”
