Funeral services for the late Mr. Melvin Kazuto Hashimoto, a 72-year-old Puhi, Kauai, Hawaii-born Sansei resident of Los Angeles who honorably served in the U.S. Army and who was a proud member of Ironworker Union Local 433, who passed away on Jan. 12, 2014, will be held on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, 2 p.m. at Fukui Mortuary “Chapel in the Garden,” 707 E. Temple St., Los Angeles, CA 90012, officiated by Bishop Taisen Miyata of Koyasan Buddhist Temple.

Mr. Hashimoto was predeceased by his beloved wife, Martha Masae. Proud father of Terry Mutsue, Stuart Masato (Gabriela) and Lynn Kazue (Brian Roberts) Hashimoto of Washington; devoted grandfather of Shayna Ame Garcia, Anthony Kazuto, Mateo Masato and Nicolas Toji Hashimoto, and Peyton Masae Roberts of Washington; brother of Elaine Sadako (Lawrence) Kashiwabara of Hawaii, Alvin Saichi (Dorothy) Hashimoto of Nevada, Eileen Sachiko (Wilfred) Shimomura of Hawaii, Marlene Mitsuko (Herb) Lum, and Leslie Mitsuo (Margaret) Hashimoto of Hawaii. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
