SANTA MONICA — The 29th annual Critics Choice Awards were presented Jan. 14 at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica.

Netflix’s “Beef,” in which a road-rage incident leads to a conflict that spirals out of control, won in all of the categories for which it was nominated:

Best Limited Series. Also nominated were “Daisy Jones & the Six,” “Fargo,” “Fellow Travelers,” “Lessons in Chemistry,” “Love & Death,” “A Murder at the End of the World” and “A Small Light.”

Best Actor in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television: Steven Yeun, who played Danny Cho. Also nominated were Matt Bomer (“Fellow Travelers”), Tom Holland (“The Crowded Room”), David Oyelowo (“Lawmen: Bass Reeves”), Tony Shalhoub (“Mr. Monk’s Last Case: A Monk Movie”) and Kiefer Sutherland (“The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial”).

Best Actress in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television: Ali Wong, who played Amy Lau. Also nominated were Kaitlyn Dever (“No One Will Save You”), Carla Gugino (“The Fall of the House of Usher”), Brie Larson (“Lessons in Chemistry”), Bel Powley (“A Small Light”), Sydney Sweeney (“Reality”) and Juno Temple (“Fargo”).

Best Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television: Maria Bello, who played Jordan. Also nominated were Billie Boullet (“A Small Light”), Willa Fitzgerald and Mary McDonnell (“The Fall of the House of Usher”), Aja Naomi King (“Lessons in Chemistry”) and Camila Morrone (“Daisy Jones & the Six”).

Awkwafina and Sandra Oh star in “Quiz Lady.”

Jessica Yu’s “Quiz Lady” — in which a game-show-obsessed woman (Awkwafina) and her estranged sister (Sandra Oh) work together to help cover their mother’s gambling debts — won for Best Movie Made for Television. Also nominated were “The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial,” “Finestkind,” “Mr. Monk’s Last Case: A Monk Movie,” “No One Will Save You” and “Reality.”

Ke Huy Quan, who plays Ouroboros in “Loki,” was nominated for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. The award went to Billy Crudup (“The Morning Show”). Also nominated were Khalid Abdalla (“The Crown”), “Ron Cephas Jones (“Truth Be Told”), Matthew MacFadyen ( “Succession) and Rufus Sewell (“The Diplomat”).

There was also Asian representation in the movie categories, but no winners.

“Past Lives,” a drama about a reunion between a woman and man who were childhood friends in South Korea, was nominated for Best Picture. The award went to “Oppenheimer.” Also nominated were “Barbie,” “The Color Purple,” “The Holdovers,” “Killers of the Flower Moon,” “Maestro,” “Poor Things” and “Saltburn.”

Greta Lee, who played Nora Moon in “Past Lives,” was nominated for Best Actress. The award went to Emma Stone (“Poor Things”). Also nominated were Lily Gladstone (“Killers of the Flower Moon”), Sandra Huller (“Anatomy of a Fall”), Carey Mulligan (“Maestro”) and Margot Robbie (“Barbie”).

“Past Lives” director/writer Celine Song was nominated for Best Original Screenplay. The award went to Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach (“Barbie”). Also nominated were Samy Burch (“May December”), Alex Convery (“Air”), Bradley Cooper and Josh Singer (“Maestro”) and David Hemingson (“The Holdovers”).

Charles Melton, who played Joe Yoo in “May December,” was nominated for Best Supporting Actor. The award went to Robert Downey Jr. (“Oppenheimer”). Also nominated were Sterling K. Brown (“American Fiction”), Robert De Niro (“Killers of the Flower Moon”), Ryan Gosling (“Barbie”) and Mark Ruffalo (“Poor Things”).

Actor Kelvin Han Yee posted on social media, “I am so proud to be the father of both these kids (onscreen). I play Charles Melton’s dad in ‘May December’ and I play Ali Wong’s dad in ‘Beef’! Congratulations to both of these great actors for their recent nominations and awards.”

Hayao Miyazaki’s “The Boy and the Heron” was nominated for Best Animated Feature. The award went to “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.” Also nominated were “Elemental,” “Nimona,” “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem” and “Wish.”

Takashi Yamazaki’s “Godzilla Minus One” was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film. The award went to “Anatomy of a Fall.” Also nominated were Wim Wenders’ “Perfect Days” (Japan’s entry for the best foreign-language film Oscar), “Society of the Snow,” “The Taste of Things” and “The Zone of Interest.”
