Yoshida signs a shirt for a delighted fan, one of more than 200 of the Galaxy faithful who turned out to meet the stars.
The L.A. Galaxy’s two Japan-born stars paid a visit to Little Tokyo on May 26, a day after a thrilling come-from-behind win over Houston Dynamo FC a day earlier.
More than 200 fans lined up outside the Japangeles store in the Japanese Village Plaza, to meet defenders Maya Yoshida and Miki Yamane, who signed autographs and posed for photos.
“I really wasn’t expecting so many people today,” Yoshida said. “It feels great to know the fans are supporting us this way.”

Yamane had an assist for the winning goal in the 2-1 victory over Houston, and many fans mentioned it during the meet-and-greet.
“I want to thank you both for all the passion you’ve put into this season,” one visitor said.
Roy Kuroyanagi, the owner of Japangeles who began his business in the Japanese Village Plaza 14 years ago, has been working with the Galaxy for a number of promotions this season.
