The Azuma Ryū Japanese dance group (SoCal) is celebrating its 25th year in Ventura County with a special recital.
Despite a global pandemic and cross-country moves (for the teacher, Azuma Kikusue), Azuma Kotobuki Kai continues to thrive. A selection of classical and modern dances will be peformed by 57 dancers, ages 4 to adult, in traditional costumes.
The recital will be held on Sunday, June 23, at 2:30 p.m. (doors open at 2 p.m.) at the Thousand Oaks High School Performing Arts Center, 2323 N. Moorpark Rd., Thousand Oaks.

The program will be about 90 minutes long and will include two pieces with live musicians. A short reception with dance group members will follow.
Admission is $15 for adults, $10 for youth (3-17) and seniors (62+), free for children 2 and under. Advance purchase is recommended.
