Passed away on Sept.15 at the age of 70. For the past 25 years, she resided in Los Altos Hills with her late husband, Tak. Alice was born Sept. 25, 1938 at their home on Virgil Avenue in Los Angeles. She graduated from Chouinard Art Institute and received her Bachelors of Art from Cal State, Long Beach. She engaged in a broad array of art mediums, from weaving, paper making, fiber arts, ceramics, silk painting, and Kimikomi (Japanese doll making). Her passion and dedication to her family also extended to her enthusiasm for genealogy.
Alice is survived by her daughters, Sheryl (Rich) Endo and Stacy (Charles) Bove; and grandchildren, Elizabeth and Emily Endo and Natalie and Cate Bove; and her older sister, Meri Onishi; and younger sister, Ruth (Art) Mayeda; and her relatives and friends.
Memorial service will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3 at the Kataoka Residence, 25725 Altamont Rd., Los Altos Hills, CA 94022. Burial service will be on Oct. 5 at 11 a.m., Alta Mesa Memorial Park, 695 Arastradero Rd., Palo Alto, CA 94306.
