Violet Kikuye Shikiya, 92, born in Kauai Hawaii, resident of Montebello, passed away on Sept. 25. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Oct. 2, 10:30 a.m. at the Centenary United Methodist Church, 300 S. Central Ave., Los Angeles, Calif., officiated by Pastor Erwin McManus of Mosaic Church.
She is predeceased by her husband, Herbert Kokai Shikiya; and granddaughter, Stefanie Sakuma.

She is survived by her son, Howard Shikiya; daughters, Alberta (John) Traina, Grace Shikiya, Janice (Steven) Sakuma, La Verne (Guadalupe) Saavedra, Janet (Dr. Richard) Yamamoto; grandchildren, Brett Shikiya, Penny Wolf and Carin Sakuma, Evan and Corey Yamamoto, 1st Sgt Anselmo Saavedra, Cpt. Camilo Saavedra, Haydee Beecham, Hilario Saavedra and Juan Saavedra; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Betsy Chioko and Lily Fumiko of Hawaii; brother, Warren Hidemasa Kotani of Hawaii.
