A private family funeral service was held on Nov. 20 for Walter Wataru Miyakawa, 86, born San Pedro, Calif., who passed away on Nov. 13. This was in accordance with Mr. Miyakawa’s written and expressed instructions for a private service.
Predeceased by his wife, Yumiko; son, Wayne; sister, Fusako Ikuta of Japan; and survived by his daughter, Patty (Craig) Shimizu; sons, Dale (Lorraine) and Howard (Karen); grandchildren, Brandon and Ryan Shimizu, Kelly Kim, Stacie, Marlee and Scott Miyakawa; brothers, Isao (Keiko) and Mitsugi (Mutsuko) Miyakawa. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
