Age 85, passed away peacefully on June 28 from natural causes. Born on Feb. 28, 1924, she lived in South Pasadena except for time spent in Gila River Relocation Camp 1942-1945. June graduated as a registered nurse from St. Mary’s Nursing School, then worked in the Japanese American Community Hospital until her marriage to Yoshito Alan Komoto in 1954. She worked as a nurse at Huntington Hospital from 1973-1989. We will always remember her sharp wit, thoughtful kindness, warm generosity to those in need, love for animals, keen mind, her political and social awareness, and dedication to helping others. Her husband passed away in 1994. She is survived by her two sons, Robert and Roy; grandson, Alan; and two brothers, William Sato and George Sato.
