Ishibashi, Mayako “Maya” passed away Nov. 23 at the age of 77. She was born Feb. 7, 1932 in Los Angeles, and has been a longtime resident of Lomita. Maya and her husband, Tom, happily owned the strawberry farm near the Torrance Airport for over 40 years.
Mrs. Ishibashi is survived by her loving husband, Tomu Tom Ishibashi; children, Thomas Masato (Audrey) Ishibashi, Mimi Tamura, Marcia (Mike) Oto; 1 grandson; 8 grand¬daughters; 1 great granddaughter; brothers, Joe Joji Nakakihara and Kako Nakakihara. Funeral services will be Friday, Dec. 4 at 10:30 a.m. at the Riviera United Methodist Church, 375 Palos Verdes Blvd., Redondo Beach. Internment will follow in Green Hills Memorial Park, Green Hills Mortuary, (310) 831-0311.
