Private funeral services for the late Nui Nakao Hirata, 98-year-old, California-born resident of Monterey Park, who passed away on Jan. 7, were held on Friday, Jan. 15, at Fukui Mortu¬ary “Chapel in the Garden.”
She is survived by her children, Joanne Onaga, Toshiko (Edward) Ab¬bott, Marie (Samuel) Gruber, Ray and Rumiko Nancy Hirata; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jack (Naoko) and Jimi (Hisako) Nakao; sisters, Mary Nakamura and Kazue Kawabata; sister-in-law, Chizuko Nakao; she is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
