A funeral service for Sarah Yoko Tanimoto, 88-year-old, Denver, Colo¬rado born Nisei, who passed away on Jan. 24 in Los Angeles will be held on Monday, Feb. 1 at 11 a.m. at Bella Vista United Methodist Church also known as Shepherd of the Hills United Methodist Church, 2233 S. Sarah married Arthur Akira Tan¬imoto in 1945, and were happily mar¬ried until his death in 2001. Their mar¬riage produced four children; Frank Tanimoto (deceased), James Tan¬imoto, Aileen Tanimoto-Matsuura, and Joanne Tanimoto-Carmichael. Sarah was the loving grandmother of seven grandchildren: Joy Hanson; Brianna, Bryan, Blair and Brynn Matsuura; and Joleen and Jonah Carmichael, and two great-grand children, Caleb and Liam Hanson. Sarah’s life was enriched by her daughter-in-laws Sara Tanimoto and Anna Flores; and her son-in-laws, Stacey Matsuura and Joel Carmichael and her sisters-in-laws, Helen (Kay) Tamaki and Alice Watanabe. Sarah appreciated the kindness of long time friend and caregiver, Kekoa Karen Sato and many nieces, nephews. All who knew her were enriched by sharing Sarah’s life
