Yone (Sasaki) Munemitsu, 86, a native of Santa Ana, Calif. and long
time resident of Garden Grove, Calif. is at peace with Christ, having
passed to heaven on Feb. 10 at her home of natural causes. She was
blessed with good health and lived an active life until the moment of
her death.

Yone was born Sept. 30, 1923 in Santa Ana on the family farm. She
attended First Baptist Church of Garden Grove from childhood to the
Sunday before her passing. She attended Santa Ana High School. During
World War II, she was interned with her family and other Japanese
Americans at Poston, Ariz. Upon returning to California, Yone worked
in farming and married Seiko “Tad” Munemitsu. Together, they worked
on Munemitsu Farms for over 40 years, growing tomatoes, asparagus,
strawberries, green beans, squash, avocados, and “Sunkist” oranges
and lemons.

A celebration of her life was held Feb. 20 at First Baptist Church of
Garden Grove, with interment at Westminster Memorial Park. Yone’s
