Chiyoko Rose Niino passed away on May 13 at her home in Fresno,
Calif., from complications from ALS. Born on April 14, 1924 in Bell,
Calif., Rose recently celebrated her 86th birthday. She is survived
by sisters, Masuko Sato of Peoria, Ariz., Tsugiko Holdaway of San
Francisco, Natsuye Fujimoto and Kiyoko Sato of Gardena. She was
preceded in death in 2006 by her loving husband of 43 years, Jackson
H. Niino. Rose is also survived by three sisters-in-law, Fusako
Fukushima of Dinuba, Sachiko Niino of Madera, Michi (Tak) Nakamichi
of Fresno; and several nephews, nieces and other relatives from the
Fresno, Northern and Southern California areas. Auntie Rose will be
dearly missed by family and friends.
A funeral service was held on May 28 at the Lisle Funeral Home in
Fresno. Remembrances may be made in Chiyoko Rose’s memory to the ALS
