A family funeral service for the late Bill Masanori Tanabe, 79-year-old Fife, Washington-born Nisei and longtime Gardena resident, who passed away on Jan 26, 2011 in Mission Viejo will be held at Fukui Mortuary on Saturday, March 12 at 11 a.m.
Interned at Minidoka, Idaho during WWII, Bill later graduated from the Univ of Washington with a Mechanical Engineering degree. Worked many years for Boeing, Mattel Toys and Hughes Electronics to bide time between backpacking and Salmon/Trout/Steelhead adventures.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; daughters, Linda Ingham and Sandra (Paul) Creager; son, David (Vickie) Tanabe; sister, Chizuko Shigio (Puyallup, Wa); nine grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family in the Pacific Northwest.
