Born February 17, 1926 on Terminal Island, California. Passed away August 29, 2011 in Baldwin Park, California at age 85. Kaz, a longtime Monterey Park resident, for years ran his own business, Tropizon Plant Rentals. A World War II Veteran, Kaz graduated from Heart Mountain internment camp in Wyoming. He loved sports, fishing, travel, Vegas and, above all, his family. He will never be forgotten by those who loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Masako “Mary”; his children, Alan, Karen (Dana) Kong and Glenn (Cris); stepchildren Nancy (Ron) Ellison and Jo-ann (Ted) Louie; a sister, Miwako (Henry) Nishizu; a brother, Shigeki; grandson Sam Kazuo; step grandchildren Jason Pantages, Kristine Louie, Joe Ellison and Staci Louie; and nieces Donna McFarland, Elaine Nishizu and Eileen (Chris) Rodenhizer.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Joan Kohatsu Marumoto from Maui.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 1st at Green Hills Memorial Chapel, Rancho Palos Verdes. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 3rd at Green Hills. Private burial to follow.
