It’s time to start thinking about UNITY, where the nation’s largest ethnic journalism organizations gather for one massive conference – and in 2012 it’s in Las Vegas.

Join the Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA-LA) at Far Bar, 347 E. First St. in Little Tokyo, on Tuesday, Feb. 28, at 7 p.m. (check-in at 6:30 p.m.) for the local chapter’s first major mixer event of the year.

Attendees will have a chance to become a new full member of AAJA for a discounted rate on this night only, take advantage of UNITY’s early-registration discounts, and network with esteemed journalists from across SoCal.

The event is open to AAJA members, individuals interested in becoming new AAJA members, and members of National Association of Hispanic Journalists, Native American Journalists Association, National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association, National Association of Black Journalists, and more. (Must be 21 or older.)

Admission is free for AAJA members and for the first 20 new full members, who will receive a $10 discount off the membership fee; $5 for NAHJ, NAJA, NLGJA and NABJ members; $10 for non-affiliated guests. Tickets at the door are $5 for AAJA members, $10 for all others.
