The San Gabriel Valley Japanese American Cultural and Community Center celebrated a combined Shinnenkai and Keirokai this past weekend. A full house was in attendance and treated to a delicious luncheon, a raffle, and a humorous keynote speech by 94-year-old Yoshito Fujimoto. Those in attendance were treated to live performances by dancers from Hanayagi Rokufukumi, a guitar solo by singer-songwriter Maaya Roy, the center’s own Nikkei band playing ukulele numbers, and the Kishin Daiko taiko group.
