Poet Amy Uyematsu holds a copy of “Stone Bow Prayer,” a collection of her poetry published in 2005 by Copper Canyon Press. Uyematsu was honored on Saturday at the 26th Author Recognition Luncheon sponsored by the Friends of Little Tokyo Branch Library and the Little Tokyo Branch Library. A Sansei poet and teacher, Uyematsu’s books include “30 Miles from J-Town,” for which she won the 1992 Nicholas Roerich Poetry Prize. She also edited the poetry in “Greenmakers: Japanese American Gardeners in Southern California.”
