Cold Tofu’s Helen Ota and Denise Iketani at the March improv comedy performance at the Gardena Valley JCI.

The Gardena Valley Japanese Cultural Institute is partnering with Cold Tofu, the nation’s premier Asian American comedy improv group, to offer a four-week “Introduction to Improv and Group Communication” class.

The class will focus on becoming comfortable with speaking in front of groups, teamwork, and having fun.  Participants can be from age 14 to infinity (and beyond!).

The course will be made up of three weekly two-hour sessions and conclude with a two-hour session that will include a “showcase” performance for family and friends.

The cost is $80 and the course will be capped at 20 participants. Classes will be held at the GVJCI, which is located at 1964 W. 162nd St. in Gardena. If you are interested in taking the class, contact the GVJCI at (310) 324-6611 or info@gardena-jci.org. Interested persons will then be contacted to coordinate class dates and times.
