Kaneko Nakanishi, born in Villa Park, raised in Terminal Island, interned at Gila, Ariz., a long time resident of the Seinan district of Los Angeles, passed away peacefully at home with family after suffering complications from a broken hip.
Predeceased by her daughter, Sarah Hiromi Yamasaki.
She is survived by son, Robert (Gay) Nakanishi; brothers, Toshiro (Kiyoko) and Katsumi (Hatsune) Izumi; sisters, Satsuki (Kiyoshi) Hamabata and Mary (Bob) Tamura. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and other relatives.
“Auntie Kay” will be missed for her ready smile, her helpfulness, and her great cooking.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 22, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Fukui Mortuary “Chapel in the Garden,” 707 E. Temple St, Los Angeles, Calif.
A funeral service will be held privately. The family requests no flowers or koden. Please treat yourself or a loved one.
