The annual Summer Festival (Natsu Matsuri) will take place Saturday, June 23, from noon to 10 p.m. and Sunday, June 24, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at theVenice Japanese Community Center, 12448 Braddock Dr., Los Angeles.

The event will feature food (snow cones, sushi, teriyaki chicken, udon), games (including a dunk tank), ondo dancing, cultural exhibits and demonstrations.

The performance/demonstration schedule is as follows:

Saturday

2:00 p.m. — Aikido

2:30 p.m. — Judo

3:00 p.m. — Iaido

3:30 p.m. — kendo

4:00 p.m. — Line dancing

4:30 p.m. — Karate

5:00 p.m. — Inroduction of queen and scholarship award

5:30 p.m. — Taiko

6:00 p.m. — Ondo

Sunday

1:30 p.m. — Hula

2:00 p.m. — Shodo

2:30 p.m. — Ikebana

3:00 p.m. — Odori

3:30 p.m. — Karate

4:00 p.m. — Judo

4:30 p.m. — Aikido

5:00 p.m. — Taiko

5:30 p.m. — Ondo

Admission is free. All proceeds go to the VJCC Operating Fund.

The center is located one block west of Centinela Boulevard, a half-mile north of the 90 Freeway.
