A memorial service for Kazuo Nishida, 87-year-old, Ashue, Wash.-born Nisei, who passed away on July 1, 2012, in Torrance, will be held on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Centenary United Methodist Church, 300 S. Central Ave., L.A.

He is survived by his wife, Miriam Hanayo Nishida; daughters, Gail Nishida-Coppock, Kathleen Nishida, and Sandra (Ron) Bates, the last of Portland, Ore.; grandkids, Christopher and Mackenzie Bates, both of Portland, Ore.; siblings, Shizue Okada of Alameda, Calif., Shigeru (Rae) Nishida of Seattle, Wash., and Kenji (Martha) Nishida; brother-in-law, Paul (Bobi) Masumoto; also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
