Ayako Judy Kawai, age 80, Hyogo-ken-born, resident of Gardena, Calif. and Nampa, Idaho, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 30, 2012. She is survived by her beloved husband, George Shotaro Kawai; children, Aileen Kawai and Greg (Kirsten) Kawai; grandchildren, Beverly (Adam) Mullenix, Cason Kawai, Torin Kawai, Raith Kawai and Gideon Kawai; siblings, Takako Aoki, Yasuaki (Takako) Tanaka and Keiko Endo, all of Japan; brother-in-law, Sakae Aoyama of Washington, Tsuta Kawai and Grace (Junji) Yamamoto, both of Idaho; and survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Private gatherings will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 8, 11 a.m. at Fukui Mortuary “Chapel in the Garden” 707 E. Temple St., Los Angeles, CA 90012.
